Ghanaian football administrator Nana Yaw Amponsah has parted ways with Petrocub Hîncești, the reigning champions of Moldova, following tensions with the club’s board of directors.
Amponsah, who took over leadership earlier this year with his Samaritan Investment Group, oversaw a successful period that saw Petrocub clinch their first Moldovan Premier League title and Moldovan Cup in the previous season.
However, all players brought in during Amponsah’s tenure have departed just ahead of Petrocub’s scheduled UEFA Champions League qualifying match today, raising concerns about the club’s preparedness for the upcoming season.
The sudden change in leadership and the roster overhaul have dealt a blow to Petrocub as they strive to compete in European and domestic competitions.
