Nations FC Public Relations Officer, Kennedy Boakye Ansah, has confirmed that Asante Kotoko is keen on signing their team captain, Emmanuel Boahene.
With the Ghana Premier League transfer window currently open, clubs are actively looking to strengthen their squads for the upcoming 2024/25 season.
Ansah commended Asante Kotoko for their professional approach in handling the potential transfer. He mentioned that the club had reached out to Nations FC directly to discuss the player’s possible move, rather than engaging in any underhanded negotiations.
Speaking in an interview with Peace FM, Ansah stated, “It’s true that Asante Kotoko is in talks with us about the possibility of signing our captain, Emmanuel Boahene, so if you’ve heard that, it’s accurate.” He also praised the Kotoko Inter-Management Committee (IMC) for their conduct, highlighting their transparency in dealing with the situation.
Ansah noted that Asante Kotoko’s interest in their captain is a testament to Nations FC’s growth as a club. Despite finishing 7th in the league table, the fact that a prestigious team like Kotoko is pursuing their players showcases the progress and success of the former Division One club.
The positive interactions between the two clubs indicate a step in the right direction for Ghanaian football, with professionalism and mutual respect being displayed in the transfer negotiations.
It remains to be seen whether a deal will be finalized, but fans can look forward to seeing how this potential move will impact both Nations FC and Asante Kotoko in the upcoming season.
