Gideon Mensah, left back for AJ Auxerre, has heaped praise on head coach Otto Addo, describing him as one of the best coaches he has worked with while playing for the Black Stars.
Mensah has had the opportunity to play under Addo during his time as an assistant coach to Milovan Rajevac, as head coach for one year leading the team to the 2022 World Cup, and now returning as the main coach.
The talented youngster highlighted Addo’s tactical prowess as one of his key strengths, noting that the former Borussia Dortmund talent coach has a clear vision for how he wants the team to play.
“I think he’s one of the best that I’ve worked with in the national team in terms of tactics and how he wants the team to play,” Mensah said. “He has experience playing for the national team himself, so he understands what Ghanaians expect and what the team needs.”
Mensah also commended Addo for his ability to reflect on past performances and make improvements for the future. “Coming back again shows that he’s taken the time to analyze what went wrong, what went right, and how to move forward and improve,” he added.
With Addo at the helm, Mensah is confident that the Black Stars are in good hands and looks forward to continuing to learn and grow under his guidance.
