Ghanaian attacker Kwame Opoku was in the spotlight as he made a significant impact in CF Montreal’s recent Major League Soccer (MLS) match against the New York Red Bulls. The game ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw, with Opoku playing a key role for his team.

Opoku, who started the game at Stade Saputo, put on a show for the fans as he played for 46 minutes and scored a crucial goal. This came after Sunusi Ibrahim, CF Montreal’s top scorer this season, opened the scoring in the 11th minute.

Making his first start since recovering from an injury, Opoku doubled CF Montreal’s lead just ten minutes later with a fine display of skill and determination. His performance on the field made a strong case for a regular starting position in the team.

Despite CF Montreal’s early lead, the New York Red Bulls, currently third in the Eastern Conference standings, fought back in the second half. Wikelman Carmona scored to reduce the deficit in the 61st minute, and Julian Hall equalized late in the game (88′).

Looking ahead, CF Montreal will now shift their focus to their upcoming match against the Colorado Rapids in Denver at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. This will be their third game in eight days, and the team will be looking to continue their strong run of form in the MLS.
