The police have shifted their investigation into the disappearance of 37-year-old Rachel Morin into a homicide case.
Rachel Morin’s boyfriend, Richard Tobin, took to social media to request privacy as he mourned alongside her family, but has yet to provide any comments on the recent arrest connected to Morin’s murder in June 2024.
Rachel Morin, a mother of five from Bel Air, Maryland, was reported missing on August 5, 2023, with her body being discovered near the trail where she was last seen just a day later. The investigation into her disappearance is now being treated as a homicide.
Morin, who was last seen around 6 pm EST at the Ma and Pa Trail in Bel Air, officially began dating Richard Tobin on August 1, 2023, just days before her tragic murder. Tobin, who is into fitness according to his Facebook page, has had his fair share of run-ins with the law. However, he has not been identified as a suspect in Morin’s case.
After months of waiting for answers, authorities finally made a breakthrough in Morin’s murder case on June 15, 2024, leading to the arrest of 23-year-old Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez from El Salvador, who was charged with first-degree murder and first-degree rape. Authorities suspect Hernandez could be involved in other crimes prior to Morin’s murder.
