Former Bayern Munich defender, Jerome Boateng, has officially joined Austrian club LASK on a two-year contract that will keep him with the team until the summer of 2026. The 35-year-old German-born Ghanaian brings a wealth of experience from his time at top clubs such as Hertha BSC, Hamburger SV, Manchester City, and most notably, FC Bayern Munich, where he played over 360 competitive matches, including 85 in the Champions League.

Boateng also had spells at Olympique Lyon, Serie A side Salernitana, and now finds himself at LASK, much to the amazement of the club’s CEO, Dr. Siegmund Gruber. “It is absolutely insane and unbelievable that we were able to bring Jerome Boateng, an exceptional player and model athlete who is so internationally sought-after, to LASK,” Gruber said.

Radovan Vujanovic, Managing Director of Sports at LASK, expressed his pride in securing the services of Boateng, whom he deemed as an absolute figurehead in international football. “It is a great honour for us that a player of his class has chosen us and shows the development we have made as a club in recent years,” Vujanovic added.

Boateng’s arrival at LASK is sure to bring a boost of experience and skill to the team, as they look to continue their development and progress in Austrian football. The defender’s signing is a testament to the club’s growth and ambition, and fans will be eager to see what Boateng can bring to the table in the upcoming seasons.
