The Minister for the Interior, Henry Quartey, has reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful electoral process in the upcoming 2024 general elections in Ghana.
During a courtesy visit by the British High Commissioner to Ghana, Her Excellency Harriet Thompson, Mr. Quartey emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and security during the elections. He praised President Akufo-Addo for his integrity and dedication to ensuring a peaceful transition of power.
Mr. Quartey also commended the successful completion of the 2024 Voters Registration Exercise by the Electoral Commission, stating that it was a positive sign for the upcoming elections. He disclosed that an elections task force has been established to oversee the smooth running of the electoral process.
The Minister highlighted the deepening relationship between Ghana and the British Government, expressing his gratitude for their continued support and collaboration. He assured that the Ministry of the Interior would engage with key stakeholders to promote the need for peaceful elections.
