The premiere of the much-anticipated movie “A Country Called Ghana” by popular actor Lil Win has been postponed.
This decision comes following the tragic death of a three-year-old boy, Richard Amponsah, who was involved in an accident with the actor on May 25.
Richard Amponsah, sadly, passed away while receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital on the same day as the accident. The young boy has since been laid to rest by his grieving family.
In a statement released by Weezy Empire, the management team of Lil Win, it was announced that the premiere, originally scheduled for Saturday, June 1, has been postponed as a mark of respect for the deceased boy. The statement mentioned that the decision was made to allow them to mourn the loss of the young child alongside the grieving family.
Weezy Empire also assured patrons who had purchased tickets for the premiere that their tickets would remain valid for the rescheduled date, which will be communicated at a later time. The statement further extended wishes for a speedy recovery to the father of the deceased, who sustained a fractured leg in the accident.
Additionally, Lil Win’s management team issued an apology for any distress caused by a previous statement that was deemed insensitive to the bereaved family. The statement also requested fans to keep the actor, his manager, and security detail in their prayers as they recover from their injuries at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
