Howie Mandel is a well-known figure in the entertainment industry, with his roles as a judge on America’s Got Talent and the former host of Deal or No Deal. But when he’s not in the spotlight, the Canadian television personality can be found at home with his wife of over 40 years, Terry.
The couple, who tied the knot on March 16, 1980, have been married for an impressive 44 years. Terry Mandel is not just the wife of the famed AGT judge, she is also a TV producer and talent agent who has worked alongside her husband on various projects.
In addition to their successful careers, Howie and Terry Mandel own a talent agency called The Abstract Talent Agency, which is based in Los Angeles, California. The couple’s relationship dates back to their high school days when they met at a local youth center while waiting in line at the concession stand.
Their first encounter was when Howie borrowed money from Terry to buy french fries. “I’ve been paying her back ever since,” Howie shared during a recent appearance on Today with Hoda & Jenna. Despite Terry initially turning Howie down, the pair eventually began dating and went on to have three children together – two daughters and a son.
Their eldest child, Jackelyn Shultz, spoke openly about her struggles with anxiety and OCD, which she shares with her father.
Both Howie and Jackelyn have been vocal about seeking therapy and erasing the stigma surrounding mental health issues. Jackelyn emphasized the importance of having her father’s support and understanding throughout her journey.
