English-born Ghanaian midfielder, Kobbie Mainoo, has been making waves in the Premier League U21 Team of the Season, according to WhoScored.

The 18-year-old sensation had an impressive breakthrough season with Manchester United, where he solidified his spot in the team with dazzling performances.

Throughout the season, Mainoo featured in 32 games across all competitions and managed to net four goals. Despite Manchester United’s disappointing eighth-place finish, Mainoo emerged as a bright spot amidst the gloom.

Not only has Mainoo been excelling at the club level, but he has also caught the eye of the England national team. He earned his first senior squad call-up in March 2024 for England’s friendlies against Brazil and Belgium, after previously representing the under-21s.

Mainoo made his senior team debut at just 18 years old on March 23, 2024, coming on as a 75th-minute substitute in a 1-0 loss to Brazil at Wembley Stadium. His impressive performance in that match earned him a start against Belgium, where he received praise for his contribution to the team.

Mainoo’s talent and potential have not gone unnoticed, and he is poised to continue making a name for himself both at the club and international level. Ghanaian fans will undoubtedly keep a close eye on his progress as he continues to shine on the big stage.
