Asante Kotoko suffered a tough 2-1 defeat to Berekum Chelsea, with head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum expressing his disappointment over the impact of Serge Eric Zeze’s injury.

The match, held at the Golden City Park in Berekum, saw Kotoko’s three-game unbeaten streak come to an end.

During the post-game press conference, Ogum highlighted Zeze’s injury as a significant setback for the team, stating that it disrupted their gameplay. The absence of Zeze forced Kotoko to make a tactical substitution, ultimately affecting their performance on the field.

Despite goals from Steven Mukwala of Kotoko and Stephen Amankona of Chelsea in the first half, it was Mizack Afriyie who sealed the victory for Chelsea with a crucial header in the 96th minute.

Looking forward, Kotoko is now gearing up to face their arch-rivals Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday, May 26 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi. As they prepare for this highly anticipated match, Kotoko will have to regroup and work on their strategies to secure a positive result.
