Laryea Kingston, the head coach of the Black Starlets, has expressed his gratitude towards the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for giving him the opportunity to lead the Ghana male U17 national team. Kingston was called from Denmark to take charge of the team and he is determined to make a positive impact.

After a convincing 5-1 victory over Ivory Coast in their opening match at the WAFU B U17 Cup of Nations tournament, Kingston revealed that his main goal is to qualify his team for the next U17 AFCON. He believes that changing the narrative and securing a spot in the AFCON is crucial for the team’s growth and development.

“I am thankful to the FA for having faith in me and appointing me as the head coach of the team. Since my arrival in Ghana, my focus has been on achieving our goal of qualifying for the AFCON, something we have not been able to accomplish since 2017,” Kingston said.

Next on the agenda for Coach Laryea Kingston and the Black Starlets is a match against Benin in their second Group A fixture at the WAFU Zone B U17 Cup of Nations tournament. Kingston is confident in his team’s abilities and is determined to continue their winning streak in order to secure a spot in the AFCON.
