Former Hearts of Oak striker, Charles Taylor, has heaped praise on Black Starlets coach Laryea Kingston, comparing him to legendary Ghanaian coaches Emmanuel Afranie and Sam Arday.

Taylor’s comments suggest that Kingston’s coaching abilities go beyond just the U-17 level, hinting at a possible promotion to lead Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars.

Speaking on Angel TV, Taylor expressed that Kingston’s tactical knowledge surpasses that of Otto Addo, the current Black Stars coach. While he did not explicitly call for Addo to be replaced, Taylor emphasized Kingston’s potential to get more out of the Black Stars squad.

According to Taylor, Kingston’s coaching prowess is deserving of a higher-profile role, stating, “Laryea Kingston’s capabilities go beyond coaching at the Under-17 level. If Otto Addo can manage the Black Stars, then Kingston should also be considered for a higher position. He is more than qualified for it.

“Kingston is a master of football tactics. A coach should have the ability to instruct players to carry out his strategies. With Kingston at the helm, the Black Stars could potentially be scoring seven goals per game,” he continued.

Taylor also praised Kingston’s ability to unite and motivate teams, likening him to respected coaches Afranie and Arday.

“Kingston has the potential to revolutionize the Black Stars and take their performance to new heights. He truly understands how to bring a team together,” Taylor added.

Taylor’s commendation of Kingston comes after the Black Starlets’ impressive 5-1 win against Ivory Coast in the WAFU Zone B championship opener.

Kingston’s leadership has been lauded for the team’s cohesive gameplay and tactical prowess, leading to growing calls for him to be given a more prominent role in Ghanaian football coaching.
