Ghanaian rapper Medikal has recently come under fire for his decision to perform on stage with his ex-girlfriend Sister Derby at his O2 Indigo event in London.
This move has fueled rumors about troubles in his marriage to actress Fella Makafui.
In an interview on Accra-based UTV, Medikal explained that the reason for the performance was to give fans a live experience of a popular song they had both worked on. He emphasized that the goal was to enhance the concert experience for fans who had only seen the song in music videos and on social media.
“It was all about entertainment and providing my fans with a live performance of a song they love. There was no intention to disrespect anyone, especially Fella Makafui,” Medikal stated on United Showbiz.
Despite his explanation, critics have criticized his actions, calling them disrespectful towards his ex-wife. However, Medikal urged the public to focus on the success of the event rather than his personal life.
Addressing the rumors of his marriage troubles, Medikal emphasized that breakups are a part of life and urged Ghanaians to move on. He made it clear that the focus should be on the music and entertainment, rather than personal relationships.
