Ghanaian Hiplife sensation, Ayisi, formerly known as A.I., has opened up about the motivation behind his decision to change his stage name.

The musician gained recognition after being featured by Vision DJ on the popular track ‘Grind’ in 2016. However, he felt the need to rebrand himself as Ayisi to avoid any confusion with the term Artificial Intelligence associated with the initials A.I.

During an interview on TV3’s New Day on May 1st, Ayisi explained, “Nowadays everything is A.I. so it was suggested that the artist would get lost in all that…there were incredible names, Adenta Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence, and all that, so I thought that the artist would get lost in all that.”

He revealed that the name A.I. was derived from his full name, Ayisi, where he decided to use only the first and last letters for his stage persona.

Ayisi recently dropped a new single titled ‘Blessing,’ which was produced by Groovy. Despite his musical success, the artist remains humble when it comes to award nominations. He expressed that he prefers to focus on his craft and let others handle the nomination submissions for him.

“I mostly have them submitted for me. I have never submitted a nomination myself even with ‘Anger Management,’ someone submitted it for me. I am more focused on just doing your work and then someone remembers to file for me,” Ayisi shared.

With his fresh name and continuous dedication to his music, Ayisi is poised to make a mark in the Ghanaian music scene.
