Ghanaian football star Andre Ayew recently expressed his delight in scoring a goal against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), citing his deep connection with former club Olympique Marseille as the reason behind his satisfaction.

The Ghana captain, who kicked off his professional career at Marseille, spent a significant eight years with the club before moving on to new opportunities.

The 34-year-old forward found the back of the net for Le Havre in a thrilling 3-3 draw against PSG at the Parc de Prince over the weekend, resulting in a delay of PSG’s expected Ligue 1 title celebrations.

In the aftermath of the match, Ayew emphasized the fierce rivalry between PSG and Marseille, stating, “It is a good feeling, you know, to score against Paris, especially because I am a Marseille boy.

The rivalry between the two clubs is very significant,” during an interview with journalist Nana Ama Agyemang.

Ayew went on to express his happiness with his current form, mentioning, “Everything is going really well. Personally, I am physically fit. I am gradually regaining my optimal form. I was sidelined due to an injury for a period of time, which prevented me from signing with a club early on.”

The seasoned player seems to be back on track and making an impact on the field once again, much to the delight of fans and supporters.
