Warwick Davis, beloved actor known for his roles in the Harry Potter series, has announced the passing of his wife, Samantha, at the age of 53. The couple, who met on the set of Willow in 1988 and married three years later, shared a heartwarming relationship that spanned decades.
Samantha, who had achondroplasia, a bone growth disorder causing disproportionate dwarfism, had faced numerous health struggles throughout her life. In 2018, she was rushed to hospital with sepsis, a life-threatening condition that caused complications following a decompression surgery on her spine. Despite the near-fatal battle with sepsis, Samantha bravely fought through and survived, thanks to the quick actions of her medical team.
The couple, who tragically lost their baby Lloyd nine days after his birth in 1991 due to complications from inheriting dwarfism, also suffered the loss of their son George when Samantha miscarried at 20 weeks in 1993. Despite these heartbreaking losses, the couple persevered and eventually welcomed their children, Annabelle and Harrison, into the world.
Warwick, who was born with Spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita, a rare genetic form of dwarfism, has been vocal about the challenges he and Samantha faced, not only in their personal lives but also in their careers. Samantha, an actress known for her roles in various TV shows, was a pillar of support for Warwick and their family.
The couple’s children, Annabelle and Harrison, have followed in their parents’ footsteps and pursued careers in acting. Despite the hardships they have faced as a family, the Davis family remains close-knit and supportive of one another.
The passing of Samantha Davis is a heartbreaking loss for Warwick and his family, as well as the entertainment industry.
