It’s unfortunate things have not gone well for Asante Kotoko – Emmanuel Gyamfi

Former Asante Kotoko captain, Emmanuel Gyamfi, has expressed his sympathy towards his former club as they continue to struggle this season. The team’s head coach, Prosper Ogum, has come under intense scrutiny as Kotoko has only managed to secure one league win in 2024.

In their last seven league matches, the Porcupine Warriors have suffered six defeats, leading to tension between management and the fans. In a show of discontent, fans disrupted a training session in an attempt to halt the activities and demand the removal of the former WAFA boss.

Despite a recent 2-0 loss to Aduana, Gyamfi believes Kotoko displayed promising structure during the match. “Even though we [Aduana] beat them at Dormaa, their performance on the day showed they meant business, they were up to something,” Gyamfi shared with Ghanasportspage.com. “So whoever criticizes his coaching performance, I strongly disagree with that person. It is unfortunate that things have not gone as they had hoped.”

As the pressure mounts on the team, Gyamfi’s words of support may serve as a reminder of the potential within Asante Kotoko as they navigate through a challenging season.
