Ghanaian rising star Edmund Baidoo showcased his talent once again as he scored a crucial goal for Sogndal in their 1-1 draw against Åsane in the Norwegian OBOS-ligaen.
The 18-year-old attacker, who started the match at the Åsane Arena, played the entire 90 minutes and was a key player in Sogndal’s goal on Monday.
It was in the 34th minute when the deadlock was finally broken. A fantastic team move on the left side led to Oliver Hintsa being played through on goal. Although his initial shot was saved, Baidoo was in the right place at the right time to pounce on the rebound and slot the ball into the back of the net, giving Sogndal a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, both teams had chances to score, but it wasn’t until the 86th minute when Åsane managed to find the equalizer. A cross from the left wing made its way to centre-back Magnus Bruun-Hanssen, who made no mistake in volleying the ball home to level the score at 1-1.
Baidoo has been in fantastic form this season, with two goals and one assist in just three appearances in the 1st Division. His performance is sure to attract attention from fans and scouts alike as he continues to impress with his skills on the pitch.
