Italian-born Ghanaian defender Giuseppe Agyemang proved his worth once again as he scored a vital goal to help Ancona secure a 3-1 victory over Sestri Levante in Serie C action.
Making a strong impact after coming on as a substitute in the 68th minute, Agyemang showcased his skill and speed to outmaneuver Sestri Levante’s defense and find the back of the net in the 74th minute.
The game was a tense affair, with Ancona falling behind early but quickly equalizing through Coli Saco’s goal in the 26th minute. The second half saw Sestri Levante putting pressure on Ancona, but thanks to Tommaso Barnabà’s goal-line clearance and Maiko Candiano’s strike against the crossbar, they were unable to find the equalizer.
Ancona took advantage of their chances, earning a penalty after Lorenza Podda’s touch in the box. Alberto Spagnoli calmly converted from the spot to give his team the lead before Agyemang sealed the win with his goal on the counterattack.
