Bibiani Goldstars coach Frimpong Manso has provided insight into why his team faced a defeat against Accra Lions on matchday 26 of the Ghana Premier League. The miners experienced their first loss in six games in the Ghanaian top-flight at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Goals from Mohammed Yahaya and Daniel Awuni sealed the victory for Accra Lions in a crucial encounter. Manso attributed the defeat to the difficulty faced by his side in preventing their opponents from building their play from the back. “It was a very difficult game. What we needed to do to survive in this game was to prevent them from starting from the back, which means we needed to press them but it was difficult,” Manso explained.

The coach highlighted the physical toll on his team due to back-to-back trips to Accra within a week, affecting their ability to press effectively. “Within one week, we’ve travelled to Accra on two occasions before playing on Wednesday. So to press with such conditions was difficult for us,” Manso added.

Bibiani Goldstars currently occupy the 10th position on the Ghana Premier League table with 35 points from 26 games this season. The miners are set to face Aduana Stars in their upcoming match on Sunday afternoon as they aim to bounce back from the recent defeat.
