Nations FC coach, Kasim Ocansey Mingle, expressed his disappointment with his team’s missed opportunities in their recent matchup against Bofoakwa Tano. The Premier League debutants faced off against the Sunyani-based club in a thrilling 2-2 draw at the DR. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Sunday.
Bofoakwa Tano took the lead with a goal from Charles Mensah in the first 15 minutes of the game, heading into halftime with the advantage. However, Nations FC quickly responded with an equalizing goal from Barimah Baah just one minute into the second half.
The visitors managed to pull ahead once again with a goal from Emmanuel Boateng in the 83rd minute, but Prince Acquah scored in the 86th minute to secure a draw for Nations FC. Despite the outcome, Coach Mingle believed his team had plenty of chances to secure a victory against their opponents.
“We should have scored about six or five goals. We had the chances including a penalty but we missed them all,” Mingle stated after the game.
Following the draw, Nations FC maintains their position as the second-ranked team in the Ghana Premier League, accumulating 44 points in 26 matches so far this season. They trail behind league leaders Samartex by five points, positioning themselves as strong contenders in the ongoing season.
