Renowned former Black Stars coach, CK Akonnor, has expressed his readiness to serve Asante Kotoko once again if the opportunity presents itself.
Following his dismissal as head coach of the Black Stars, Akonnor is currently focusing on furthering his education in order to expand his knowledge of the game.
In an interview with Akoma FM, Akonnor stated that while he is committed to improving his skills and understanding of football, he is open to the prospect of returning to Kotoko depending on the terms of the offer presented to him by the club.
The Porcupine Warriors are currently facing a challenging period in the Ghana Premier League, having only managed to secure a single point from their last seven matches. Akonnor’s potential return to the club could provide a much-needed boost and direction to help the team overcome their current struggles.
“I am dedicated to enhancing my knowledge of the game through education, but I am also open to the idea of returning to Kotoko if the right opportunity arises. I do not consider myself to be above the club and am willing to take on the challenge of guiding the team to success,” Akonnor explained.
During his previous tenure with Kotoko from 2018 to 2019, Akonnor led the team to victory in the NC Special Competition and the CAF Confederation Cup group stage. His track record and experience make him a formidable candidate for the coaching position at Kotoko once again.
