Prince Osei Owusu showcased his scoring prowess with a brilliant double strike for Toronto FC, but it wasn’t enough to claim a victory as they suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat against Charlotte FC on Sunday morning.
The thrilling match at the Bank of America Stadium began with Kerwin Vargas opening the scoring for Charlotte FC with an impressive goal in the 39th minute. However, Toronto FC quickly responded as Owusu equalized just four minutes into the second half.
Despite Owusu’s heroics, Liel Abada put Charlotte FC back in front, only to see Owusu once again level the score with a well-taken goal in the 78th minute. The game seemed to be heading for a draw until Patrick Agyemang, who was brought on as a substitute, scored the winning goal for Charlotte FC in the 85th minute.
Owusu, who entered the match as a second-half substitute, now has three goals in eight matches this season.
