NDC parliamentary candidate for Ketu North raises concerns about government’s Performance Tracker

Edem Agbana, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Ketu North, has raised red flags regarding the government’s Performance Tracker initiative.

The initiative, which aims to document and publish projects undertaken since 2017, has come under scrutiny from Agbana.

During an appearance on The Big Issue on Citi FM, Agbana expressed his belief that the government should focus on addressing its unmet promises and performance issues rather than diverting attention to potentially non-existent projects. He criticized the government for what he described as abysmal performance over the past seven years, questioning the timing of the launch of the Performance Tracker less than a year before the upcoming elections.

Agbana pointed out what he perceives as the government’s desperation and mediocrity, particularly in its inclusion of projects carried out by non-governmental organizations in the Performance Tracker. He highlighted the discrepancy between the government’s promises, such as the construction of 300 SHSs and projects for various districts, and the actual achievements in these areas.

According to Agbana, the launch of the Performance Tracker has only served to highlight the government’s shortcomings. He referenced the previous Delivery Tracker launched in 2020, which he claimed has been abandoned in favor of the new initiative.

Agbana called on the government to refocus its efforts on fulfilling its promises and addressing the needs of Ghanaians, rather than promoting what he views as misleading information through the Performance Tracker.
