Former Asante Kotoko striker, Eric Bekoe, has called for patience and support for under-pressure head coach Prosper Ogum, likening him to legendary manager Arsene Wenger.
Asante Kotoko is currently facing a crisis, with five losses and one draw in their last six games in the ongoing 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.
Despite facing criticism from fans due to reported internal problems and poor results, Bekoe believes that Ogum, like Wenger, is a coach who focuses on developing players and needs time to turn things around.
Speaking on Akoma 87.9 FM, Bekoe expressed his view that Kotoko needs to bring in more elite players in order to achieve success.
Bekoe highlighted the lack of success with the scouting system at Kotoko and pointed out that most of the players, with the exception of Justice Blay, are still immature. He emphasized the importance of giving Ogum the time and resources to work with the players currently at the club, as they will need time to develop and improve.
Bekoe encouraged supporters to remain calm and continue to show their support for the team during this challenging period.
He believes that with time and support, Ogum can follow in the footsteps of Wenger and help Kotoko achieve their desired outcomes.
