Asamoah Gyan, the all-time leading scorer for Ghana, has excluded former colleague Andre Dede Ayew from his all-time Black Stars roster.
The former Black Stars captain listed Richard Kingson as his goalie in a 3Sports article.
He selected John Paintsil, John Mensah, Samuel Osei Kuffuor, and Hans Adu-Sarpei as the back four for the defense.
He then named Sulley Muntari and Yaw Preko as his wingers, and Michael Essien and Stephen Appiah as his anchor players in the midfield.
He selected himself as the striker in the starting eleven and Abedi Pele, the renowned Ghanaian footballer and symbol of African football, as the number 10.
alongside the exception of Yaw, Asamoah Gyan played alongside many of the players listed on his roster over his storied career.
Andre Ayew seems to be a notable absentee from the list because he was one of the best players to play with Gyan during his international career.
Before taking over as the official captain in 2019, Ayew was Gyan’s deputy.
Ayew has surpassed Gyan, who had the record of 109 games, to become Ghana’s most capped player with 119 appearances.
