Akuapem Poloo went on a pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia and nearly got herself in a fix.
She was one of hundreds of thousands of Muslims throughout the world who were apprehended in the ‘Holy City’ and near the Kaaba during the month of Ramadan.
Akuapem Poloo shared her difficult experience, revealing that in her effort to feel the ‘holy Kaaba’, she nearly shattered her arm.
In a few of Instagram photos, her arm seemed twisted as she moved through the enormous throng, seeking to reach a certain location.
She also proclaimed her new ‘Hajia’ title, which is often gained after a Muslim has visited the holy region.
“I almost shattered my arms trying to touch the Kaaba. Yes, I touched and kissed the Black Kaaba. I made it thanks to my persistence, hard effort, and Allah’s aid. “New Hajia in town (Hajia Haniya),” she remarked excitedly on Instagram on April 4, 2024.
Scores of netizens have subsequently complimented her on her new accomplishment.
The significance of touching the Kaaba, which contains the Black Stone
According to Islamic legend, the Black Stone dropped from Jannah to guide Adam and Hawa where to erect an altar, which eventually became the first temple on Earth.
Muslims believe that the stone was once pure and brilliant white, but has since become black due to the misdeeds of those who have touched it.
Akuapem Poloo announced a change in religious affiliation over a year ago.
