Nigerian singer Gabriel Oche Amanyi, well known as Terry G, believes that marriage is not a successful’venture’ for musicians.
According to him, female fans dislike the thought of a’married male singer’.
Terry G referred to fans of the opposite sex as the “juice of the industry,” adding that the show business would be dull without them during a talk on ‘The Honest Bunch Podcast’.
He stated, “I don’t believe marriage is for people like us [musicians].” If I marry, I will lose touch with my female followers. Females are the foundation of music, the lifeblood of the industry. If you remove them, you will become bored.
“If a musician publicly announced his marriage, it would impact his female following base. When you get married, you’re no longer in your comfort zone. In Nigeria, people claim that once you marry, you are off of the market. So you’re no longer hot.”
On the same platform, Terry revealed that he is having an extramarital affair.
He admitted to being in a relationship with another lady, while having a ‘baby mom’ whom he adores and respects as his wife.
In an earlier interview, Terry G stated that most Afrobeats musicians glorify the devil with their performances.
