A terrible occurrence occurred in Adugyama, an agricultural town in the Ashanti Region, when a 40-year-old teacher, Samuel Owusu, died while attempting to rescue money from an abandoned well.
According to dailyguidenetwork.com, the event took place about 2 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2024.
Owusu, a kind Samaritan, climbed down the deep well to assist his neighbour, whose money had fallen into it by accident.
Owusu drowned the moment he entered the well.
Local officials, including police and Tepa firefighters, went to the situation.
They successfully recovered Owusu’s body from the abandoned well.
He was then taken to Mankranso Government Hospital, where medical officials declared him dead upon arrival.
Police have launched an inquiry into the event.
Owusu’s body has been sent to Plus Lab Mortuary in Mankranso for preservation and autopsy.
