Attendees of the 67th Ghana’s Independece Day parade were wowed by the demonstration of Ghana Army’s helicopter rope suspension display.

The event, which happened Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Koforidua Youth Resource Center in the Eatern Region attracted thousands of Ghanaians, disaporians, dignitories and people from the international community. The President of Côte d’Ivoire, Alassane Ouattara, was present.

Many entertaining and educative culture displays featured during the parade, but what attracted more attention was Ghana Army’s helicopter rope suspension display.

A group of about seven military troops were airlifted on ropes after their ground military drill and this mesmerised many who haven’t witnessed this phenomenon in person.

When the video landed on social media, it went viral, and many praised the military force for showing such bravery.

“Ei all this happened today? eish lemao o,” renown Twitter (now X) influencer Kalyjay wrote.

The video met a mixed reaction as well.

“Modern warfare shows that this kind of exercise is not practicable in a war front. I wonder what they seek to communicate,” an X user said.

Another user said: “They were slow this emergency evacuation if you play warzone you will know what I’m talking about.”
