The reasons behind Paul Pogba’s football ban

Paul Pogba, the former Manchester United star, has recently been banned from football for four years after testing positive for a banned substance.

The French midfielder, aged 30, was provisionally suspended in September following a positive test for DHEA in August.

DHEA is a substance known to enhance testosterone levels, and despite Pogba’s claims of accidental intake, the Anti-Doping Prosecutor’s Office in Italy has imposed the lengthy ban on him.

This ban prohibits Pogba from participating in any football-related activities until September 2027, when he will be almost 35 years old. The World Cup winner has expressed his intention to appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

In response to the verdict, Pogba took to Instagram to express his disappointment, stating that he believes the decision to be incorrect.

He emphasized that he has never knowingly taken any banned substances to enhance his performance and looks forward to sharing his side of the story when legal restrictions are lifted.

Pogba also stated that he has always respected fellow athletes and supporters throughout his career.

The ban on Pogba has sparked discussions and debates in the football world, with fans and experts alike expressing their opinions on the situation. Pogba’s future in the sport remains uncertain as he navigates the appeal process and looks for ways to clear his name.
