Asamoah Gyan, the former captain of the Black Stars, has finally addressed his detractors on his latest political appointment.
Dr. Bawumia, the vice president who also serves as the flagbearer, officially introduced the former Black Stars player as a member of the New Patriotic Party team.
Asamoah Gyan was publicly hounded by Ghanaians for his political activity after the declaration, despite the rule that states that public figures should not publicly declare which political party they endorse.
For the first time, Asamoah Gyan responded to the news by stating that he is accustomed to criticism and that he is not amused by what others have said about him.
“They have their own opinions. I have been there [before]. I have been to stadia, been booed in front of 80,000 people, I am used to it”, he said.
“At the end of the day when everything is said and done, we see what we did or what we couldn’t do. The criticisms will come. It is also good for me and for my team to push harder…”, Asamoah Gyan added.
Baby Jet states, “I know what I can do to help and I have confidence in myself.” My twenty years of experience allow me to be of assistance. I can’t keep it to myself by sitting at home. For the younger generation to gain from it, I must share.
Asamoah Gyan claims that 80,000 people have jeered him, thus he doesn’t take these complaints seriously because everyone has their viewpoints.
