The daughter of Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, is Lady Louise Alice Elizabeth Mary Mountbatten-Windsor, who was born on November 8, 2003.
She is King Charles III’s youngest niece and the youngest granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II. Born eighth in the British throne dynasty.
On November 8, 2003, at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey, England, Lady Louise Alice Elizabeth Mary Mountbatten-Windsor was born.
According to the BBC, her mother, the Countess of Wessex at the time, was hurried to the hospital since Lady Louise was due a month early.
Because he was in Mauritius on an official visit, Sophie’s father, Prince Edward, was not present at the birth of Lady Louise.
Lady Louise was born prematurely and with several problems. Due to a placental abruption that resulted in significant blood loss for both Sophie and Lady Louise, Sophie was delivered via emergency Caesarean section by Marcus Setchell, the Royal Surgeon and Gynecologist.
Later, on November 27, 2003, her identity was revealed, and in 2004 she was baptized in the private chapel of Windsor Castle. She is presently ranked sixteenth in the British throne succession as Prince Edward’s daughter.
It was confirmed in August 2022 that she would enroll in the fall semester at St Andrews University, the institution where her relative Prince William and Kate first met. According to a Buckingham Place representative, “Lady Louise will start at St Andrews University in September to study English having received her A Level results today.”
Along with her mother, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, and father, Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, Lady Louise attended King Charles’ coronation on May 6. She donned a wide-brimmed hat and a summer dress with blue and white flower patterns for the event. She completed her look with machine-made white suede shoes and a white clutch.
Lady Louise Windsor, one of the most prominent young members of the Royal Family, is not a princess.
Since Prince Edward of Windsor’s father married Sophie in 1999, he ascended to the title of Earl, hence Lady Louise Windsor is not formally held in that title.
At that time, the couple and Queen Elizabeth II reached an understanding that instead of being titled Princes and Princesses, their family would receive courtesy titles befitting an earl’s offspring.
