Canadian actor Kenneth Alexander Mitchell has sadly passed away. He was known for his role as Eric Green in the CBS television series Jericho and for portraying various characters in Star Trek: Discovery. In the film, he appeared as Ralph Cox in the sports biopic Miracle and as Joseph Danvers in Captain Marvel.

Kenneth Mitchell died on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the age of 49. He had lived with the neurological disorder amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or A.L.S., which causes paralysis and death, for more than five years, according to a statement from Mr. Mitchell’s family posted to his social media.
In February 2020, Kenneth Mitchell revealed that he had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. He used a power wheelchair beginning in October 2019.
To incorporate Mitchell’s wheelchair, the showrunners of Star Trek: Discovery said his wheelchair was a hover chair to help him move as a result of a genetic condition. By August 2021, Mitchell had lost the use of his voice due to the disease.
