British film and television actress Pamela Fortunee Salem has passed away.

Pamela Salem passed away on February 21, 2024, at the age of 80. Her cause of death has not been disclosed publicly yet. The actress’ death was announced on Wednesday and tributes have poured in from those who knew her following her passing.
Big Finish, a British production company that makes sci-fi audio books and plays, announced Pamela’s passing and led the tributes.
They tweeted: ‘We are utterly heartbroken to confirm the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Pamela Salem’ and linked to a longer tribute on their website.
Pamela worked on several projects with Big Finish, namely the officially licensed audio drama Doctor Who spin-off Counter-Measures.
The series continued the story of several characters from the serial Remembrance of the Daleks (1988), and Pamela voiced Rachel Jensen, a professor and the scientific adviser who becomes the head of Counter-Measures.
Doctor Who screenwriter Gareth Roberts wrote: ‘Farewell, Pamela Salem. A fine actress. She always seemed such *fun*.’

Pamela Salem was born in Mumbai and studied at Heidelberg University in Germany before attending the Central School of Speech and Drama. She began acting in 1969.
