On Friday, Fredrick Obeng Adom, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Upper West Akim, turned the first sod to mark the start of the Mepom to Esaaso Road development.
This important thoroughfare in the constituency has long been in disrepair. But after the sod-cutting event, reconstruction is planned.
Encompassing roughly fifteen communities in the district, the 19-kilometer route links Krodua, Breman, Kwao-Baah, Nyanoa, Obinnim Nna, Abamkrom, Agyirikwa, Kumikrom, Amanfrom, and Esaaso.
It also provides a different path for people going from Agona Swedru (Central Region) to Asamankese.
The construction is being handled by Osekwadwo Company Limited, which is well-known for its superior road building skills. The project is expected to be completed in a year.
At the event, Mr. Adom reaffirmed his dedication to the constituency’s growth and thanked President Akufo-Addo for his recognition and support.
Chiefs of community, a feeder roads department representative, the contractor, the area’s District Chief Executive (DCE), Eugene Sackey, constituency executives of the New Patriotic Party, and other party supporters were present at the event.
