Charlie Dior, a well-known fashion critic, didn’t hold back when he criticized gospel singer Piesie Esther’s wardrobe decision, comparing it to that of a horror movie villain.
In a picture posted to her Instagram profile, Piesie looked amazing in a vibrant green dress paired with a dark blue one.
The glitter and fluffy furs on both shoulders, along with the yellow shoes, defined the ensemble.
Her dark mauve-purple hair suited the ensemble, and she added a spherical pair of earrings as an accessory.
Charlie Dior, on the other hand, claims that the entire ensemble is an utter mess.
He called Piesie’s attire gaudy in his review of her performance on his YouTube show, pointing out that the gown in particular appeared to have an overpowering and crowded pattern.
“She looks like a villain in this dress. She looks like a villain in a horror movie. If I am in a horror movie and a look like this shows up, I will start running. There are so many ideas going on.
“The fur, the glitters, the toned coloured hair connecting with the puffy hand’s fur, the colour of the outfit, the bright shoe, there are so many things going on in this outfit.
“It looks too decorative. Too many ideas all at once. We need to change her name from Piesie Esther to Piesie Easter because this outfit is giving us Easter decorations,” he said.
Charlie Dior continued by saying that Piesie Esther, who he had previously hailed as the pinnacle of style among gospel musicians from Ghana, seems to be slipping in that category.
“I have praised Piesie Esther in the past. I have used her as the bar, as the standard for other gospel artistes but she has disappointed me with this look. I give credit where credit is due. Let’s call a spade a spade. Piesie Esther, who usually slays? What is going on?” he added.
Similar criticism of gospel singer Celestine Donkor’s attire by Charlie Dior had sparked a social media back and forth between the two.
Even though he criticizes all Ghanaian celebrities, he typically targets gospel artists because of their allegedly “laid-back” approach to appearance.
