‘My father died because we couldn’t pay for N70,000 hospital bed space’ – Odumodublvck

Rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, better known by his stage name Odumodublvck, hails from Nigeria. He has shared stories of his early career as a struggling artist, including the death of his father due to his family’s inability to pay N70,000 for a hospital bed.

He claimed that because of their poverty at the time, they had to bring his father home to die.

The “Declan Rice” crooner attributed his negative experience to the fact that he felt no artist helped him achieve success in music.

He acknowledged that other rappers had influenced him, but no one had set him on the right path.

Odumodublvck posted the following on his X handle on Wednesday: “My family was poor when my father passed away. The 70k [N70,000] hospital bed space was beyond our means to pay. We had to take him home.

“Coming to tell me about paving the way for me? That’s God, brother. My reality is not to be countered by your ego, bro.
“You inspire me; I agree. However, guys, you do not open the path for anyone. Nobody!

“I hate when neggas try to play God.”

His outburst comes just days after veteran singer Eedris Abdulkareem asserted in a podcast interview that he helped to establish the paths that were later taken by Davido, Burna Boy, Wizkid, and other contemporary Nigerian musicians.
