According to reports, some Osino Senior High Technical School (OSSEC) students set fire to a mining company official’s car.
The incident happened at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Monday, February 19. Because the students were so angry, Kwadwo Isaac, the company’s public relations officer (PRO), was forced to escape for his life.
It is reported that he attempted to mediate a rekindled conflict between Nsutam Senior High Technical School and OSSEC.
On his way home, a student from Nsutam Senior High Technical School reportedly passed by OSSEC and was harassed by other pupils.
According to reports, the students beat the Nsutam student and took his phone and GHC10.
The Nsuapemso PRO and a teacher visited the OSSEC campus to resolve the matter when they became aware of the event.
But when they got there, the angry OSSEC students started throwing rocks and sticks at them, so they left the car there and ran.
The car was allegedly set on fire and vandalized by the students. According to reports, at the time of the occurrence, he had five pounds of gold and GHC35,000.00 in the car.
The vehicle is also owned by Kwasi Yesu, a miner also known by his stage name, Aboa Charles. Authorities have been asked to look into the situation in great detail and make sure that people who are in charge are held accountable.
