Ya-Na Mahama Abukari II, the King of Dagbon, has sent his sincere appreciation to President Akufo-Addo for designating Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, a descendant of the ancient Kingdom, as Minister of Finance and Economic Planning.

President Akufo-Addo promoted Dr. Amin Adam, a Dagomba and a native of the North, from his role as Minister of State to the head of the Finance Ministry last week as part of a significant cabinet reorganization.

During a ceremonial courtesy call on him by a high-ranking government team to present the new Finance Minister, Yaa Naa Abukari II commended the President for his vision and faith in the son of the land in a speech read on his behalf.

He described Dr. Amin’s appointment as a wonderful honor and a turning point in Ghanaian politics since it demonstrated a dedication to diversity and representation at the highest echelons of the administration.

“I truly want to express my gratitude to the president for bestowing upon us this honor by installing you in this esteemed position. “I am incredibly thankful,” declared the King.

Yaa Naa, who expressed faith in the new minister’s competence, encouraged the Karaga MP to preserve the principles of justice and equality of opportunity for everyone wishing to take use of his position.

In addition to outlining the expectations of the people in the area and stressing the importance of the appointment, he urged the minister to devote his tenure to serving the people with diligence.

Yaa Naa Abukari reprimanded the new Minister while emphasizing the value of leadership characterized by a strong sense of purpose and a firm commitment to serve the constituency, the area, and the country as a whole.

A number of prominent individuals were part of the delegation that escorted Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam to the Gbewaa Palace, including Saani Alhassan Shaibu, the Northern Regional Minister; Alhassan Tampuli, the Deputy Minister of Transport and MP for Gushegu; Musah Abdul Aziz Ayaba, the MP for Mion; Habib Iddrisu, the MP for Tolon; and Mohammed Bantima Samba, the Northern Regional Chairman of the NPP.

The appointment of Dr. Amin Adam occurs at a time when the nation is facing significant economic difficulties, such as mounting debt, inflation, food costs, and unemployment brought on by the pandemic and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

It is anticipated that he will provide new viewpoints and insights to the forefront of initiatives and policies meant to correct course and restart the economy.
