For a 24-hour economy, Ghana needs a comprehensive policy, according to labor expert Austin Gamey.
As a result, he has demanded a comprehensive policy on how the 24-hour economy would be carried out, asking the current and upcoming administrations to commit to and specify the policy’s implementation.
Mr. Gamey went on to say that the initiative would increase employment opportunities in the nation by giving people the ability to work for various organizations at various times, improving their financial situation.
He stated that if the government carries out the 24-hour economy initiative, Ghana will be able to overcome its economic difficulties. According to him, “in the absence of a 24-hour economy, this country will not grow.”
During a Monday, February 19, 2024, radio interview that Graphic Online listened to on Accra’s Citi FM, Mr. Gamey stated that the 24-hour economy initiative has a lot of potential to improve the nation’s economic situation.
“I think the 24-hour economy is the answer,” he declared, stressing that the strategy would uphold social justice and equity.
When elected president, one of former president John Dramani Mahama’s main policies will be to implement a 24-hour economy. Mahama is running for president again in 2024 on the ticket of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Since Mr. Mahama’s announcement, the policy has grown in favor of Ghana’s political arena.
