Well-known media personality Nana Aba Anamoah has talked about how her father’s dream of her becoming a doctor was destroyed by her pregnancy.
Nana Aba, a science student at Ghana National College in Cape Coast, claimed she was accepted to medical school but was unable to attend because she was pregnant.
“Did I sacrifice school? I did. For one year, and I’ve never said this before, but I got admission to medical school. You know, I was a science student as well, so I got admission to medical school, and I had to let that go,” she disclosed in an interview with 3 Music TV.
The announcer told her that she had to make the difficult decision for the benefit of her unborn child in what she perceived as a heavenly intervention.
“I would have been a disaster as a medical doctor and it came at the right time. My father was living his life through me. I think he wanted to be a doctor; he couldn’t do it, so he thought, Oh, my daughter will be a doctor,” she narrated.
She admitted that the choices she has made in life and the experiences she has had have shaped the woman she is now.
