The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Ashanti Regional Reconciliation Committee declares that it is dedicated to carrying out its responsibilities openly and honestly as the party strives for strength and unification.

According to a press release from the Committee that was copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Accra, “addressing grievances openly and ensuring that all members have a voice in the reconciliation process are fundamental steps towards healing and unity.”

The Committee emphasized the need for leadership and a clear vision and stated its commitment to resolving the fundamental problems that had caused divides within the party.

“Inspired by Nelson Mandela’s approach in South Africa, the Committee aims to foster clear, inclusive leadership and a vision of unity that transcends individual differences and aligns with the collective aspirations of the party’s members,” the release noted.

“The Committee recognizes the importance of open and inclusive dialogue, as demonstrated by the success of the Good Friday Agreement in Northern Ireland. Engaging all stakeholders in constructive conversations is seen as crucial for understanding diverse perspectives and fostering a sense of belonging and commitment among party members.”

The Committee convened for the first time this year on Thursday, February 8, in Kumasi, under the direction of Ambassador Edward Boateng.

According to the release, during this crucial meeting, the Party’s general secretary’s note was cited by the Chairman while outlining the party’s main goals and initiating a crucial stage in the party’s development program.

The Committee thinks that, among other things, recognizing different points of view and encouraging a sense of commitment and belonging are dependent on having positive dialogues with all stakeholders.

The Committee delineated many tactics to accomplish its goals, such as acknowledging previous errors and extending heartfelt regrets to initiate the reconciliation process.

To guarantee that their insightful opinions and ideas are incorporated into the party’s future course, it plans to extend an invitation to disgruntled primary candidates to assume major positions in policy creation and campaign activities.

Regarding inclusion in policies and platforms, the Committee pledges to represent an inclusive approach to policy formulation by incorporating policy suggestions and grievances raised by disgruntled candidates into the party platform.
