10 months is enough time to make an impact – Kodua Frimpong on last-minute reshuffle

According to Justin Kodua Frimpong, the general secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), President Akufo-Addo’s choice to reorganize his ministries 10 months before the general election will still be beneficial.

The president’s reorganization, according to critics, came a little too late and will have little effect during an election year.

However, the NPP General Secretary stated, “In political life, 10 months is a long period,” during an appearance on JoyFM’s Top Story on February 14. Honorable Brian Acheampong has always served as my model. It didn’t take long for people to notice the innovations and interventions he brought to the ministry when he was appointed Minister of Agriculture.

“What matters is what the individual is contributing. The individual’s vision and the creative notion they are bringing to the table.”

He challenged the people of Ghana to closely observe the new appointments and observe the distinctions they would make in President Akufo-Addo’s administration.

“We will all be in Ghana in a few weeks and months, so we will be able to confirm whether or not they are performing. We shall make a decision on December 7 about their ability to perform or not when they were appointed within the allotted 10 months. Let’s gauge them according to the outcome. It’s not late, in my opinion,” he remarked.

Mr. Kodua urged President Akufo-Addo to immediately reorganize his cabinet on December 22.

In his speech during the party’s yearly Thanksgiving service, he emphasized how crucial the change is to the party’s goal of “breaking the eight.”

On Wednesday, February 14, President Akufo-Addo reassigned nine appointees, the most significant of which was Ken Ofori-Atta, the Finance Minister.
