Toddy Kehoe was a Canadian politician, philanthropist and disabilities activist born on October 19, 1918 and suddenly passed away on February 8, 2024 at the age of 106.

Toddy wed Ray Kehoe, a friend of Jack’s, following his return from World War II combat. She met Marion Dewar in St. Basil’s Catholic Church, and Dewar urged her to enter politics.

Tim, the son of Toddy Kehoe, was also an Ottawa city council member from 1988 to 1994.

On October 19, 1918, Toddy Kehoe was born. Her parents are John Andrew Leore and Mary Anne (née O’Neil). She was raised in the Centretown neighborhood of Ottawa.

Kehoe became a member of the board of directors of L’Arche, a group that assists in providing community living for people with intellectual disabilities. She also volunteered at the Élisabeth Bruyère Health Centre, helping people with Alzheimer’s. She wintered in Barbados and spent a large portion of her retirement at her family’s property in Tenaga, Quebec (in Chelsea).

“Totty” was Kehoe’s childhood nickname; it eventually changed to Toddy. Jack Leore, her brother, was an Ottawa Rough Rider from 1935 until 1938.
