Nana Kwame Bediako, the head of the New Force Movement, has highlighted the country’s industrial sector as a key engine of growth, emphasizing the importance of using the country’s enormous natural resources to boost the economy and attract investors.
He stated that Ghana, like many other African countries, was extremely fortunate to have abundant natural resources capable of revamping its economy.
However, he stated that the exploitation of those resources had had little influence on the country, owing primarily to bad management.
As a result, he stated that it was time for someone to muster the guts and fight for the mobilization of local resources through industrialization and value addition.
“This is why I’m here; I believe someone must stand up with guts and fight for the youth.
“We’ve got the resources. The only thing we lack is an industrial platform and the energy to add value to these products.
Nana Bediako stated, “I will bring in foreigners not to extract our resources, but to work with us to develop this nation.”
Nana Kwame Bediako, alias Cheddar, stated this last Tuesday when paying a courtesy call on the Ghana Journalists Association’s (GJA) national executives at the International Press Centre in Accra.
He was calling on the inky fraternity to learn about some of his policies and to support him in his attempt to run for office in this year’s general elections.
Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, President of GJA, stated that the organization supported the goal of empowering youth and assisting in the industrialization of the nation to generate employment.
Prior to, during, and following the general elections, he reaffirmed the GJA’s commitment to fostering harmony and peace.
Mr. Dwumfour consequently asked association members to exercise caution in all of their interactions and to avoid using their position to stir up conflict.
