The leader of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has vowed to oppose corruption if elected in the general elections of 2024 and has cleared himself of all charges about corruption.
He emphasized that he is not a corrupt person and that he has the integrity to oversee the economy’s finances. The current administration has faced harsh criticism for standing by appointees who are alleged to have engaged in corrupt practices.
The government-instituted Office of Special Prosecutor (OSP) has also come under fire for falling short of expectations in the battle against corruption.
The NPP flagbearer declared, “If it is someone with personal integrity who is not corrupt and can be trusted to fight corruption, then your choice is Dr. Bawumia,” during his speech to the nation on his vision on Wednesday at the UPSA auditorium. He urged voters to have faith in him, saying that he would work tirelessly and selflessly for the nation.
“And Dr. Bawumia is the person you have in mind if you want someone you can trust to work hard, tirelessly, and selflessly for Ghana.” Dr. Bawumia reaffirmed his dedication to safeguarding the nation’s natural resources for the good of all people.
He emphasized, “Dr. Bawumia is the man who is more committed to protecting and using our natural resources for the benefit of Ghanaians.”
