DVLA resolves online registration challenges – Registers 25,101 vehicles

The first issues affecting online vehicle registration at the start of the year have been fixed by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA).

The number of automobiles in the nation now stands at 3.47 million after the authority used the internet platform to register 25,101 vehicles throughout its offices nationwide.

In a significant reform aimed at enhancing efficiency, transparency, and removing human intervention, the DVLA began to phase out manual car registration in September of last year and replaced it with online registration.

The new system is only compatible with specific mobile devices, and some users have complained that it is difficult to use.

The Daily Graphic in Accra received information from Eric Addison, the Deputy Director of Vehicle Inspection and Registration at the DVLA.

The Daily Graphic was given statistics that show the number of registered vehicles in January of this year was 12,101 cars, 8,206 motorcycles, and 4,674 tricycles.

To put it another way, 10,408 cars were registered in the Greater Accra Region at different locations, including 37 in Tema, Weija, and the DVLA headquarters.

With 6,408 car registrations, Kumasi came in second. 1,173 cars were registered by the Wa office in the Upper West Region. Less than 1,000 automobiles were registered at other facilities in various regions.

An overview of car registrations is provided by this data, showing that Kumasi and the Greater Accra Region had the highest number of registered automobiles in January.
