Yaa Naa Abubakari Mahama II, the Overlord of Dagbon, has warned opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama not to accumulate wealth and properties if he is re-elected in the next 2024 elections.

He further pleaded with Mahama to put his wealth accumulation behind him, leaving a lasting legacy if he returned to power.

During a courtesy call at the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi, John Mahama made these statements to the Overlord of Dagbon.

“I believe you’re not coming to make more money for your family, but to leave a legacy that not only your children will be proud of,” Naa Jacob Mahama counseled, speaking on behalf of the Yaa Naa.

If the former president wins the 2024 elections, the Overlord of Dagbon warned him to be wary of his phony allies, who tend to subvert his government.

“At this point in your political career, being able to distinguish between your genuine friends and opportunistic ones is crucial. You should have no trouble understanding; you were there once,” he counseled.

On Monday, February 5, 2024, John Mahama began his “Building Ghana Tour” in the Northern Region’s constituencies of Yendi, Gushegu, and Mion.

Activities on day two of the tour take place in Tamale Township’s four constituencies: Sagnarigu, Tamale Central, Tamale North, and Tamale South.
